First thing I did was listen to Debbie my Oncology nurse who had told me to try the anti-depressant called Effexor (disclaimer) for the tremendous Hot Flashes I was having. Since you can't take any hormones and even the alternate heath food medicine are now proving not to be a wise alternative. Effexor was written that it was beneficial to lessen the severity of the sweats. It did work for me and also lessoned some of those panic attacks we all have gone through. Second, After my breast reconstruction (Which began right after my breast was removed) my plastic surgeon inserted a prosthesis expander to slowly expand my skin enough to allow for a permanent implant. When chemo began the expanding had to stop until I finished. I had to then wait about 6 weeks before getting my breast implants. I was a lovely and perky breast size "C". I went from a flat chested A to C cup. Well I immediately started to feel better and self confidence bloomed. I wasn't quite finished yet I still had to get a nipple constructed and than finally a tattoo to make it the right color. This is when I thought I probably should have tattooed the Happy Face logo. Henceforth the idea of the picture on the Web page. Any tattoo could be a beneficial exception to the rule. Let your Doctor know. Thirdly, Intercourse during and after chemo became a nightmare. I'm sure a lot of you can relate to that. I use to talk to a friend on how she managed it? She told me about her gynecologist who is a fantastic woman who took the time to actually listen to my problem and has helped many woman. I use to go to another Doctor who would just advise me to use an over the counter cream which did nothing. She prescribed a testosterone vaginal cream that she has compounded at a California Compounding Pharmacy. This cream helps sooths and heals the walls of your vagina and also helps your libido. After a few months of use life has become so much better. continue
